Love Story #1

So in honor of Valentine's Day I figured that I would write a little love story. Love is one of the greatest things that we can experience as humans and so I wanted to hopefully honor that by writing a little story. For now the title is Love Story #1, very creative I know. You will notice that it is very much written from the perspective of a man, and more specifically my own personal one. I didn't feel up to the task of providing the point of view of the woman and because of that I feel the story is incomplete in a way. So if someone feels up to the task of providing the woman's point of view that would be awesome. Actually that might be a good creative exercise now that I think about it. Anyway, hope you enjoy.

He awoke, alone. He had no knowledge of where he came from, of where he was going, or what he should be doing. He had no memory of anything. He looked around. What he saw was beautiful. Everything was lush and green. He walked around some and saw some plants that needed pruning and some vines that needed training, so he did pruned them and trained them. He thought it strange that he knew how to do this, but the thought left as quickly as it came. Everything was so beautiful. He roamed around some more and saw some creatures. He had never seen them before. They looked odd and they were all so different. Some were tall, some were short, some skinny, others fat. He gave them names, he figured those might come in handy later. He walked around some more and found so much more that needed to be done, it was so overwhelming.

He worked as hard as he could and did as much as he could on his own, but the task proved too much for him to do on his own. He was trying to do everything by himself and had no one to help him. If he fell or something happened there was no one around to help, he was alone. He collapsed out of sheer exhaustion.

When he woke up he saw a creature that he had not seen before. It was similar looking to him, but not exactly. He had no idea where it had come from, but he had a sense that it was in some way for him. It was beautiful, more beautiful than any creature he had seen so far. He decided to call the creature woman.

All the work that he saw to be done was now less daunting with her helping him. Each day they went about doing the work together their love for each other grew. There were plenty of sorrows they endured and plenty of joys they shared. They were in love. He loved and cherished her more than anything in the world. He knew what life was like for him before she was around and what it was like after. Life was much better with her than it was without her. Before her he was on his own. There was no one to help him when he needed it. There was no one to share the experiences that he was having with. There was loneliness. This was why he loved and cherished her so much, he had seen and lived without anyone and had experienced firsthand the consequences of that life. Now that he had experienced the consequences of loving someone he knew that it was better.

To them this love was the greatest thing ever. However they could not see the bigger picture, they did not know that they were only the beginning of a greater love story, the greatest love story. If they had been able to see the bigger picture they would have been amazed of the story that was to come.

  1. I'm betting Adam stopped at the local florist for flowers and chocolate for Valentine's day. After all, there were no cemetaries to swipe them from.
